Appaloosa

The Gypsy Horses certainly come in all colours and the Appaloosas certainly satisfy some peoples desire for a horse of a different colour. It is thought that quite some years ago the Gypsies brought in two Appaloosas from the US to cross with their cobs being so taken with the colour. But there is also a history of a native spotted pony in the UK that still exists today which also may have been the originator of the colour. Although popular with the gypsies at one point the purebred Appy Cobs seemed to have almost disappeared until recent popularity of the different coloured cobs seems to have brought them out of the woodwork! Where ever its origin there is no doubt that the purebred Gypsy Cob can come in spots!
