Rabicano

Rabicano is quite common but just not usually identified as such. It is also known as Skunk tail and other names. I am not sure what its called in Australia?!

It usually causes peculiar white stripes at the top of the tail and varying amounts of roaning on the belly and flanks. It can look a bit like sabino but sabino does not put the white on the top of the tail plus sabino usually has some sort of face and leg white.

Of course most Gypsy horses will have sabino anyway, but it can be identified by the white on the top of the tail.

This mare is the only one I have seen with clear Rabicano. Look at the top of the tail not the rest of her tail. It will be interesting if the white grows down and covers her otherwise black tail still. When I have some updated pictures of her I will post them Other photos of her show a fair amount of roaning over the flank and belly. But considering her white face and legs it could be due to either Rabicano or Sabino.
