Spotted

The Gypsy Horses certainly come in all colours and the spotted cobs certainly satisfy some people's desire for a horse of a different colour. There is a history of a native spotted pony in the UK that still exists today which is likely to have been the originator of the colour. It is also thought that quite some years ago the Gypsies brought in two Appaloosas from the US to cross with their cobs being so taken with the colour. Although popular with the gypsies at one point, the Appy coloured feathered Cobs seemed to have almost disappeared until recent popularity of the different coloured cobs seems to have brought them out of the woodwork! Where ever its origin there is no doubt that the proper Gypsy Cob can come in spots!

*Note* Because of Appaloosa being the name for a specific breed in the US I have mostly avoided calling these horses from England 'Appaloosa'. Being that they are not the Americn breed of Appaloosa. I have simply called them Spotted Cobs as they would be called in the UK.
